Make no mistake, Senator Thompson evokes fear from the left, as evidenced from the hack attacks by the Democrats and their left wing publishing arms alike, (we all know who they are).

We've seen or heard these attacks that range from Fred's comments on Cuba's insurgents to the L.A. Times non-story about lobbying for abortionists (yawn!). Most recent of course, is the insipid, week long morning TV non-news segments concerning his wife, Jeri Thompson. Labeling her as a "bimbo" and "trophy wife," and remarks such as, I wonder if she "works the pole." The fact is, Jeri is no slouch. She is a lawyer, former Senate staffer and political consultant. Cheap shots, all of them! I wonder what Dolly Madison would think about being labeled a "bimbo" and "Trophy Wife?" Personally, I think Jeri would be a grand First Lady.

Why do Democrats fear Senator Thompson? Because once he officially enters the 2008 Presidential race, they know he is the man to beat. Who fears Senator Thompson the most? That would be New York Senator Hillary Clinton. Why? Because Senator Clinton will win the Democratic nomination for President. Watching Senator Clinton squirm (i.e. To twist about in a wriggling, snakelike motion; writhe) when these two debate, is going to be very enjoyable. So will it be when I cast my vote in November 2008 for Fred Dalton Thompson, the next President of the United States of America.

The Hunt For A Red November

As a political conservative, my hopes for a "Red November" in 2008 were rather gloomy considering the current field of Presidential contenders of the Republican Party. Campaign frontrunners such as Pro-abortion, anti-gun, ex-New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney and Arizona Senator John McCain, all seem to be middle-of-the-road Republicans. None of which have any appeal to this conserative from Alaska. Perhaps Senator McCain should consider jumping political parties (it didn't hurt Joe Lieberman any). I'll bet he would garner alot more support from the liberals. Well ok, at least he wouldn't be considered a RINO.

Enter former U.S. Senator Fred Dalton Thompson. Leading the polls as of 4 July 2007, he has yet to officially announce his candidacy for the office of President of the United States. Never-the-less, he has a great deal of support in part because there is a great dissatisfaction with the current field of candidates, and also in part because of his "guy-next-door" way about him. He has the ability to set people at ease and make people feel comfortable around him. At the same time, he has a commanding presence with his deep voice, his straight-talking way and imposing 6'-5" frame. In Columbia, South Carolina last week, he gave a 30-minute speech and touched on issues from Iraq and terrorism to immigration and taxes. "His style was very different. It's a little folksy, a little refreshing in a race that's going to get spirited," said Katon Dawson, the Republican chairman in South Carolina. Chip Felkel, a Republican consultant in South Carolina added: "I was impressed. He has the ability to talk to people like he's sitting on their front porch."

A 30 minute speech... Hey! I like that. No beating around the bush, and right to the point. I hate going the long way around the barn anyway. My father (a Minister), always said, "One should never talk longer than the rear-end can endure." He was right!

Fred is perceived as a threat by the left, and they will use their left wing publishing arm to trash anyone who gets in the way of their Jack-booted march to totalitarian power (as evidenced in this hit piece by Kim Chipman and Julianna Goldman on the Bloomberg.com web site, dated June 28th). I believe he has the intestinal fortitude to stand by his convictions, and lead our nation in the right direction (pun intended) in a time of great threat and turmoil.

In Fred Thompson, we find a candidate that is a true conservative, able to unite the people of our party and our nation. He is a Christian man having good Christian morals and values, with a long and strong record of fighting for issues that concern most Christians today. He is not a candidate who has "evolved" to these postions or values over the years, nor has he said that he was a "lifelong" advocate of an issue to find out that he had recently taken up an issue, all just for political expediency as some candidates have done recently. He is a man who is steadfast in his conservative views. He is no defeatist in the face of difficulty. He has not wavered in his support of our troops, or their mission in fighting the evil in the world and the Global War on Terror whether it be in Iraq, Afghanistan, or anywhere else in the world, including our homeland. He is a strong supporter of our military and its mission. He understands the grave consequences of pre-maturely pulling American troops from Iraq, leaving behind a breeding ground and relatively safe haven for Al-Quaeda, and Islamo-Fascist terrorists emboldening their supporters in Iran and Syria. We need someone with Fred's conviction, Christian faith, values, and principles that will help guide him and sustain him, that can be coupled with his natural God given leadership abilities to lead our nation forward. He is against congressmen or congresswomen who violate the Logan act by trying to undermind the publicly elected executive leadership of this country with ill advised foreign visits to nations such as Syria with leaders who sponsor terrorism. He has always taken the position that abortion is wrong and that Roe vs Wade was bad law founded on bad science and needed to be revisited by the supreme court. He is a Federalist and strict constitutionalist who believes in smaller Federal Government, giving more control to the state and local levels. He believes in strict seperation of powers and is totally against judges who try to legislate from the bench.

In my opinion, the time is right for Fred Dalton Thompson. I am in "The Hunt For A Red November" in 2008, and Senator Thompson is my choice for President of the United States.

I'm With Fred

Patriotism

Aside from modeling my patriotism around my forefathers who fought in the American Revolution against the tyranny of the British king, I also model my patriotism around these men, some of whom are British.

This lists but a few, but from this group, you will find medals in honor of their valor, spanning from Bronze Stars, Silver Stars, Distinguish Service Cross', Purple Hearts and one Congressional Medal of Honor.

Most of these brave men have since passed on.

Neville Brand After five weeks of infantry training, and an unsuccessful attempt at Officers Candidate School, the twenty-four-year-old former shoe salesman departed for the European Theater of Operations on December 9th, 1944, and arrived there on December 16th. Relatively little is known of his nine months and nineteen days overseas, but his official military records reflect that Neville Brand participated in the Ardennes, Rhineland, and Central European campaigns, and received the Silver star while convalescing at the 21st General Hospital for gallantry in combat. His other awards and decorations are the Purple Heart, the Good Conduct Medal, the American Defense Service Ribbon, the European/African/Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon with three Battle Stars, one Overseas Service Bar, one Service Stripe, and the Combat Infantryman's Badge. In a rare 1966 interview in which he consented to speak of his wartime service, Brand recalled how he earned his Silver Star when his unit came under intense fire from German machine guns located within a hunting lodge. "I must have flipped my lid," he said, for "I decided to go into that lodge." Disregarding his own safety, he worked his way around to the rear of the lodge/command post, burst in through the back and single-handedly dispatched the enemy within.
Later, on April 7th, 1945, exactly one month and a day before the official German surrender, Sergeant Brand was wounded in action by the Weser River. Felled by a gunshot to his upper right arm, and pinned down by withering enemy ground fire, Brand lay there slowly bleeding to death. "I knew I was dying," he said, "It was a lovely feeling, like being half-loaded." Rescued and treated, Brand was evacuated to a military hospital and, on September 17th, 1945, he departed for the United States. Less than a month later, Staff Sergeant Brand was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army at Fort Sheridan, Illinois.

Steve McQueen served honorably during World War II in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Jack Palance was in the U.S. Army Air Corps. 455th bomb group. Stewart earned the Air Medal, the Distinguished Flying Cross, France's Croix de Guerre, and 7 Battle Stars during World War II. In peace time, Stewart continued to be an active member of the Air Force as a reservist, reaching the rank of Brigadier General before retiring in the late 1950's.

Clark Gable (Mega-Movie Star when war broke out) Although he was beyond the draft age at the time the U.S. entered WW II.
